This basket is handmade by Mr. Hatada who cuts bamboo from the mountains in Gamagori, Aichi Prefecture and weaves various baskets.
The basket is made by meticulously and carefully weaving flat bamboo strips, which are thin but strong and durable, and bring out the colors and warmth that nature nurtures, giving a soothing effect to the space. .
The raft bottom weave is a technique commonly used for square baskets such as bamboo baskets and storage cases, but there is also a little attention to detail by the craftsmen.
The green bamboo used on the bottom is different in color from the vertical strips of bamboo, so it looks like a lattice pattern.
A little fashion is also in the edge part. A checkered pattern is created with intersecting strips of bamboo, giving it a rustic yet timeless design.
Each leg is made of rolled bamboo strips, and it has a slightly cute appearance that you will fall in love with every time you use it.
